Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TROP2-CAR-NK is an investigational cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells engineered with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the tumor-associated calcium signal transducer 2 (Trop-2) protein. Trop-2 is overexpressed in various solid tumors and plays a role in tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. By engineering NK cells to express a CAR specific for Trop-2, these modified immune cells can recognize and kill Trop-2–positive tumor cells that may evade normal immune detection. The therapy is being studied both as monotherapy and in combination with other agents such as cetuximab for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer, HER2-negative breast cancer, high-grade serous ovarian cancer, and other locally advanced malignant neoplasms[1][4][5][8]. The primary developer identified is Bellicum Pharmaceuticals.
