TROP2-IR700 is a **humanized anti-TROP2 monoclonal antibody** conjugated to the near-infrared photosensitizer dye **IR700**, developed for use in **photoimmunotherapy (PIT)**. The antibody specifically targets **TROP2 (trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2)**, a transmembrane glycoprotein highly expressed on various epithelial cancers, including pancreatic carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma, where its presence correlates with poor prognosis and aggressive tumor behavior. After intravenous injection, the conjugate binds TROP2 on tumor cells and accumulates selectively in tumors. Upon exposure to near-infrared (NIR) light, the IR700 component induces rapid, selective cancer cell membrane damage and cell death via photochemical effects, sparing nearby TROP2-negative cells. In preclinical studies, TROP2-IR700 PIT showed significant antitumor activity, with both in vitro and in vivo inhibition of TROP2-expressing tumor growth. This agent is under experimental investigation for solid tumors overexpressing TROP2, particularly pancreatic cancer and cholangiocarcinoma[1][3][5][8].
