trospium + formoterol

**Trospium + formoterol** is a hypothetical combination of two drugs: *trospium*, a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent used to treat overactive bladder, and *formoterol*, a long-acting inhaled beta-2 adrenergic agonist used for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Trospium acts by competitively inhibiting acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in smooth muscle, particularly reducing detrusor muscle contraction in the bladder. Formoterol acts as a bronchodilator by activating beta-2 adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, leading to relaxation and improved airflow. There is no evidence of an approved or clinically studied combination product containing trospium and formoterol; combinations of formoterol have been studied or marketed with other antimuscarinics (notably tiotropium or glycopyrrolate) for respiratory diseases, but not with trospium.
