Overview

Trovocabtagene autoleucel (C-CAR088) is an autologous, second-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), also known as TNFRSF17. Developed by AbelZeta (formerly Cellular Biomedicine Group), the construct incorporates a 4-1BB costimulatory domain to promote T-cell expansion and persistence. It is specifically designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, where BCMA is highly and selectively expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase Ib/II clinical trials to assess safety, efficacy, and the recommended Phase II dose in patients who have failed multiple prior lines of therapy.
