Overview

TRPP2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the TRPP2 (Transient Receptor Potential Polycystic 2) protein, also known as Polycystin-2. TRPP2 is a nonselective cation channel that plays a critical role in calcium signaling, specifically in store-operated calcium entry (SOCE) and intracellular calcium release. In the context of oncology, TRPP2 siRNA has been investigated for its ability to inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion, and metastasis in cancers such as laryngeal and pharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas. It has also been studied for its role in regulating blood vessel tone by modulating calcium dynamics in vascular smooth muscle cells. Delivery methods such as exosomes have been explored to enhance its stability and uptake in tumor cells.
