TRS005 (Heilongjiang ZBD Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)

TRS005 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), developed by Heilongjiang Zhenbaodao Pharmaceutical in collaboration with Jiangsu Tereisi Pharmaceuticals. It is designed as a biosimilar or bio-better candidate for trastuzumab emtansine (Kadcyla). The drug consists of a humanized anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody conjugated to SMC6, a cytotoxic maytansinoid derivative that acts as a tubulin inhibitor. The mechanism of action involves the selective binding of the antibody component to HER2-expressing tumor cells, followed by internalization of the conjugate and intracellular release of the SMC6 payload. This release leads to the inhibition of microtubule polymerization, resulting in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. TRS005 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer and other HER2-expressing solid tumors.
