Overview

TRT-448 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3), developed by Trotana Therapeutics. METTL3 is the catalytic subunit of the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase complex, which plays a critical role in the epitranscriptomic regulation of RNA stability, splicing, and translation. By inhibiting METTL3, TRT-448 modulates the m6A RNA methylation landscape, which in turn dampens the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, with initial studies focused on safety and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers, intended for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases.
