Overview

Trudexa is a brand name for adalimumab, a recombinant human monoclonal antibody. It functions by specifically binding to tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and neutralizing its biological activity, thereby blocking its interaction with cell surface TNF receptors. This action downregulates inflammatory reactions associated with autoimmune diseases. Trudexa was developed by Abbott Laboratories and was indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and Crohn's disease. Its marketing authorization in the EU was voluntarily withdrawn for commercial reasons in 2007 and it was never placed on the market in any member state of the European Economic Area.
