TRX-44

TRX-44 is a novel antifibrotic biological agent in preclinical development for the treatment of fibrotic diseases, with an initial focus on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. It functions as an inhibitor of CCN-family proteins, specifically mimicking the action of CCN5 (cellular communication network factor 5), which naturally counteracts pro-fibrotic signaling from other CCN family members. By interfering with activated pro-fibrotic CCN domains, TRX-44 aims to block fibrotic signaling pathways that lead to tissue scarring and organ dysfunction. The drug is being developed by Tribune Therapeutics under license from Inven2 and represents a new molecular entity designed to efficiently target multiple drivers of fibrosis without the pharmacokinetic limitations seen in some other approaches[1][2][3][5][7].
