Overview

Trypsin + chymotrypsin is a combination of two proteolytic enzymes that work together to break down proteins in the body. This enzyme combination functions as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent, primarily used to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain associated with various conditions[2][6]. The combination works by breaking down proteins into smaller fragments, making them available for absorption into the bloodstream. Once absorbed, it increases blood supply to affected areas and reduces swelling[4]. This proteolytic action helps in the removal of damaged tissue and promotes the healing process[2]. Trypsin and chymotrypsin are naturally produced in the pancreas. When taking this combination, the active proteolytic enzymes are ingested in addition to the inactive forms the body naturally produces, giving the body an extra boost for smoother protein digestion, inflammation reduction, and infection fighting[5].
