TSH-001

TSH-001 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate being developed by TSH Biopharm for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other respiratory system diseases. It is designed as a biosimilar to mepolizumab (brand name Nucala), which targets interleukin-5 (IL-5). IL-5 is a key cytokine responsible for the growth, activation, and survival of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell involved in airway inflammation. By binding to and neutralizing IL-5, TSH-001 prevents its interaction with the IL-5 receptor on the surface of eosinophils, thereby reducing eosinophil counts in the blood and lungs. This mechanism is intended to alleviate symptoms and reduce exacerbations in COPD patients with an eosinophilic phenotype. The drug is currently in early-stage clinical development, with in vitro functional (IVF) testing and clinical trials planned for the 2025 timeline.
