TSHR.197 is a synthetic peptide derived from the thyrotropin receptor (TSHR), a G protein-coupled receptor involved in the regulation of thyroid hormone production. This peptide specifically corresponds to a region of the human TSHR extracellular domain and has been studied as a component of peptide-based immunotherapy for autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Graves' disease. Unlike TSHR.132, which can trigger autoreactive T-cell responses in animal models, TSHR.197 binds to HLA-DRβ1-Arg74 but does not induce significant T-cell responses or cytokine production in preclinical experiments, suggesting that it may serve as a tolerogenic or non-immunogenic peptide in the context of immune modulation[3]. There is no evidence from available literature that TSHR.197 has advanced beyond preclinical research into clinical trials for any indication[3].
