Overview
TSL-DOX is a thermosensitive liposomal formulation of the anthracycline chemotherapy agent doxorubicin, developed by Thermosome GmbH. It utilizes a proprietary lipid composition that remains stable at physiological body temperature but undergoes a phase transition to rapidly release its encapsulated payload when exposed to mild hyperthermia (typically 40-42°C). This localized release mechanism is intended to achieve significantly higher drug concentrations within the tumor microenvironment while minimizing systemic toxicity, particularly cardiotoxicity associated with free doxorubicin. The primary clinical focus is on the treatment of locally advanced soft tissue sarcomas in combination with regional hyperthermia.
