Overview

The tsRNA-DC vaccine is an experimental immunotherapy platform that utilizes tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) to modulate or prime dendritic cells (DCs) for therapeutic purposes, primarily in oncology. tsRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNAs generated by the specific cleavage of precursor or mature tRNAs. In this vaccine approach, autologous or allogeneic dendritic cells are loaded with specific tsRNAs that can either serve as antigens or act as regulatory molecules to enhance DC maturation, antigen presentation, and the subsequent activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that tsRNA-pulsed DCs can effectively trigger systemic immune responses against tumor-specific targets, making it a novel candidate in the field of RNA-based cell therapies.
