TT-01

TT-01 is a gene therapy under development by Temprian Therapeutics for the treatment of vitiligo. The drug is designed to block the autoimmune response against melanocytes, which are the pigment-producing cells in the skin. Upon injection, TT-01 expresses modified versions of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70), acting as an HSP70 stimulant to modulate immune activity and protect melanocytes from immune-mediated destruction. Preclinical studies have shown efficacy in animal models of vitiligo, but no clinical development has been reported beyond preclinical stages as of late 2023. The technology underlying TT-01 was originally developed at Northwestern University and subsequently licensed by Temprian Therapeutics[2][4][6].
