TT infant whole Pertussis refers to a specific vaccination regimen evaluated in the GaPs clinical trial (Pertussis Vaccination in Pregnancy and Infants) conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in The Gambia. This regimen involves the administration of a Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccine to pregnant women as a control intervention, followed by the administration of a whole-cell pertussis (wP) vaccine to their infants as part of the routine Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) schedule. The whole-cell pertussis vaccine consists of inactivated *Bordetella pertussis* cells, which present a broad spectrum of bacterial antigens to the infant's immune system to induce protective immunity against whooping cough. The study aims to characterize the functional humoral and cellular immune responses in infants and investigate how maternal vaccination influences the immunogenicity of subsequent infant pertussis vaccines.
