Overview

TTAX01 is a cryopreserved human umbilical cord (UC) product derived from donated placental tissue following healthy, full-term caesarian section births. It is processed using the CRYOTEK method to preserve biological activity. The product is intended for use as a wound covering in the treatment of complex, non-healing diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), particularly Wagner Grades 3 and 4. Its mechanism of action involves providing an extracellular matrix that supports wound healing by delivering growth factors and anti-inflammatory components present in the UC tissue. Clinical studies have shown that application of TTAX01 to well-debrided wounds, alongside systemic antibiotics and aggressive debridement, results in higher rates of complete healing compared to standard care alone. The drug has completed Phase 3 trials for diabetic foot infection and non-healing wounds[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
