Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TTI-0102 is an investigational small molecule cysteamine precursor being developed by the VA Office of Research and Development. It is currently under evaluation as an adjunct therapy to Compensatory Cognitive Training (CCT) for Veterans suffering from mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The drug exhibits anti-inflammatory activity and is hypothesized to address chronic TBI symptoms by mitigating neuroinflammation, improving brain energy production, and potentially repairing blood-brain barrier permeability. Clinical studies are investigating its mechanism of action through biological profiling of inflammatory markers such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and C-reactive protein (CRP), as well as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).
