Overview

TTP-4000 is a soluble fusion protein that acts as an antagonist of the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Products (RAGE). It combines a RAGE polypeptide sequence with a non-RAGE immunoglobulin domain, creating a fusion protein that binds to RAGE with high affinity. This binding prevents RAGE-ligand interactions, effectively blocking the downstream pathological effects associated with RAGE activation. The drug was developed for potential treatment of Alzheimer's disease with mild cognitive impairment, showing efficacy in animal models of the disease. RAGE and its ligands are associated with various pathologies including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic inflammation, and Alzheimer's disease. Developed by vTv Therapeutics (previously TransTech).
