Overview

TTP435 is a small molecule drug developed as an inhibitor of agouti-related protein (AGRP), a neuropeptide involved in the regulation of appetite and body weight. AGRP acts as an endogenous antagonist at melanocortin receptors, particularly within the central melanocortin system, which plays a key role in controlling feeding behavior and energy homeostasis. By inhibiting AGRP, TTP435 aims to reduce food intake and promote weight loss. The drug was developed by vTv Therapeutics (formerly Transtech Pharma) for the treatment of obesity and has completed Phase 2 clinical trials in obese subjects[1][5]. Its mechanism represents a novel approach targeting central pathways implicated in obesity.
