The ttRNA-LPA vaccine is an mRNA-based therapeutic vaccine designed for cancer treatment. It utilizes multi-lamellar RNA lipid-particle aggregates (RNA-LPAs) as a delivery system for messenger RNA (mRNA). This mRNA is often derived from a patient's own tumor, allowing for a highly personalized approach. The vaccine's mechanism involves delivering tumor-specific mRNA to cells, leading to the expression of tumor antigens. This process aims to reprogram the tumor microenvironment from an 'immune-cold' to an 'immune-hot' state, thereby eliciting a robust adaptive immune response against cancer cells. Developed by the University of Florida, this vaccine has shown promising results in preclinical studies and early human trials for indications such as glioblastoma and rhabdomyosarcoma.
