Overview

TTX-001 is a novel anti-fibrotic peptide developed by Thendor Therapeutics. Derived from endostatin, a C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII, TTX-001 is based on the research peptide E4 and is designed to modulate multiple pathways involved in the development and progression of fibrosis. Its mechanism of action involves the regulation of Early growth response protein 1 (Egr-1) and Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) signaling, as well as the modulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling components including lysyl oxidase (LOX), fibronectin, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Additionally, it targets the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) system and enolase-1 to inhibit collagen deposition and promote fibrotic tissue resolution. TTX-001 is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of exposure-induced fibrosis (resulting from chemical, radiation, or biological toxins), pulmonary fibrosis, and urological fibrosis affecting penile and urethral tissues.
