TU-31 is a novel, orally bioavailable small molecule platinum complex developed by VUAB Pharma for the treatment of solid tumors. As a platinum-based antineoplastic agent, TU-31 is designed to exert its cytotoxic effects by forming covalent adducts with DNA, which leads to DNA cross-linking, inhibition of DNA replication and transcription, and the induction of apoptosis in cancer cells. Unlike many traditional platinum-based therapies (such as cisplatin or carboplatin) that require intravenous administration, TU-31 is being developed for oral delivery, potentially offering improved patient convenience and a distinct safety profile. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic properties in patients with advanced solid tumors.
