Overview

TU7918 (also known as NBP611) is a long-acting recombinant Coagulation Factor IX (FIX) being developed by Tium BIO for the treatment of Hemophilia B (Type B hemophilia). Hemophilia B is a rare genetic bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency or dysfunction of Factor IX, which leads to impaired blood clotting and an increased risk of spontaneous or traumatic bleeding. TU7918 is engineered to have an extended half-life compared to standard Factor IX products, aiming to reduce the frequency of prophylactic infusions and improve patient compliance. The candidate was originally developed by SK Chemicals and was later transitioned to Tium BIO, a spin-off company focused on rare diseases and innovative biologics. It is currently undergoing clinical evaluation to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy in patients with Hemophilia B.
