Tubercin is a biological extract derived from *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, specifically developed as an immunotherapeutic agent for the treatment of various malignancies. Primarily researched by Dr. John Majnarich at Bio-Research Inc. during the 1970s and 1980s, the drug consists of a specific fraction of the tubercle bacillus, often characterized as a polysaccharide-protein complex. Its mechanism of action involves the non-specific stimulation of the host's immune system, particularly through the activation of macrophages and T-lymphocytes, which are then recruited to identify and destroy tumor cells. Although it was investigated in clinical settings for solid tumors such as adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas, Tubercin never received regulatory approval from the FDA and is currently classified as a discontinued or alternative medical therapy.
