Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TuliVax is a live-attenuated vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of tularemia, a severe infectious disease caused by the bacterium *Francisella tularensis*. Developed by researchers at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, TuliVax is engineered to be safer and more stable than the historical Live Vaccine Strain (LVS). The vaccine works by stimulating a comprehensive immune response, including both antibody production and T-cell activation, to provide long-lasting protection against various strains of the pathogen, which is recognized as a significant biothreat agent. It is currently undergoing clinical evaluation to assess its safety and immunogenicity in humans.
