Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tumarol is a line of topical herbal medicines developed by Robugen for the treatment of respiratory tract symptoms associated with the common cold, such as cough and bronchial congestion. The formulations typically contain a combination of essential oils, including eucalyptus oil, camphor, and menthol in the adult version (Tumarol N Balsam), or eucalyptus oil and pine needle oil in the children's version (Tumarol Kinderbalsam N). These ingredients act as expectorants and mild counter-irritants, helping to loosen mucus and ease breathing through inhalation of the volatile components and local stimulation of blood flow when applied to the skin. The product line is marketed in Germany as an over-the-counter remedy for cold-related conditions.
