The tumor antigen peptide-loaded myeloid dendritic cell product is an investigational autologous cellular immunotherapy developed by Radboud University Medical Center. It consists of naturally derived myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) isolated from the patient's blood and loaded ex vivo with tumor-associated antigen (TAA) peptides. This dendritic cell vaccine is designed to prime and activate tumor-specific CD8+ cytotoxic T cells and CD4+ helper T cells to target and eliminate prostate cancer cells. It is currently being evaluated in a randomized phase IIa clinical trial (NCT02692976) for patients with chemo-naive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), where its safety, immunogenicity, and clinical efficacy are being compared to plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) products and combined mDC+pDC formulations.
