The tumor antigen-sensitized dendritic cell vaccine developed by West China Hospital is an autologous cell-based immunotherapy designed as an adjuvant treatment for patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases following R0 resection. The vaccine is produced by harvesting a patient's dendritic cells and sensitizing them with tumor-associated antigens. Once administered subcutaneously, these mature, antigen-presenting dendritic cells are intended to activate the patient's immune system, specifically cytotoxic T lymphocytes, to recognize and eliminate residual micrometastatic colorectal cancer cells, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
