Tumor-Associated Antigen-Specific T Cells (TAA-T) is an adoptive cell therapy consisting of T cells that have been expanded and activated to recognize multiple tumor-associated antigens (TAAs), such as Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1), PRAME, and Survivin. Unlike CAR-T cell therapies, TAA-Ts are typically non-genetically modified and rely on their native T-cell receptors (TCRs) to recognize antigens presented by human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules on the surface of tumor cells. This approach allows for the targeting of multiple antigens simultaneously, which may help prevent immune escape due to antigen loss. TAA-T products can be manufactured from the patient's own cells (autologous) or from healthy donors (allogeneic/off-the-shelf). Clinical development has focused on hematologic malignancies like Hodgkin lymphoma and various pediatric solid tumors, including osteosarcoma and neuroblastoma.
