This autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy is an adoptive cell therapy being developed by Sun Yat-sen University for the treatment of locally advanced cervical carcinoma (FIGO stages IIIA-IVA). The therapeutic process involves surgically removing a portion of the patient's tumor to isolate naturally occurring TILs, which are then expanded to large populations ex vivo. Following a regimen of cisplatin-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT), the expanded TILs are reinfused into the patient to provide a robust, personalized immune response against tumor-associated antigens. This approach aims to enhance the curative potential of standard-of-care chemoradiotherapy by leveraging the specific anti-tumor activity of the patient's own immune cells.
