Tumor-penetrating microparticles (TPM) is a paclitaxel-loaded microparticle drug-delivery platform developed by Optimum Therapeutics, LLC. The technology utilizes a PLGA (poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)) copolymer to deliver fractionated dosing designed to 'prime' the tumor microenvironment. The platform consists of two distinct microparticle types: a rapid-release 'Priming TPM' that facilitates interstitial transport and a slow-release 'Sustaining TPM' that provides prolonged antitumor activity. This dual-action approach is intended to improve drug penetration into the deep layers of solid tumors and peritoneal metastases, overcoming the physical barriers of the tumor stroma.
