Overview

Tumor polypeptide pool induced DC-CTL cells is a form of personalized cell-based immunotherapy in which autologous dendritic cells (DCs) are pulsed with a pool of tumor-associated antigenic peptides and then co-cultured with cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). The resulting product—antigen-specific CTLs activated by mature, peptide-loaded DCs—is infused back into the patient. This approach aims to generate a targeted immune response against cancer by enhancing the ability of CTLs to recognize and kill tumor cells presenting those specific antigens. The therapy has shown manageable safety and promising efficacy in early clinical studies for patients with advanced solid tumors and hematological malignancies[1][3][4]. Mechanistically, it relies on the presentation of selected tumor peptides by mature DCs to activate CTLs that secrete cytokines such as IFN-γ, IL-2, perforin, Granzyme B, IL-6, and TNF-α upon recognition of their targets[1][4]. This strategy is being explored as a precise immunotherapeutic option for various cancers.
