Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tumorase** is BioMedicure's preclinical protease formulation, also designated **T101**, developed for local intratumoral treatment of solid tumors. In AACR 2010 xenograft studies, intratumoral administration was reported to digest tumor extracellular matrix and cleave extracellular domains of cell-surface proteins required for cell survival, disrupting tumor architecture and producing local cancer-cell death. It was evaluated in melanoma, prostate, breast, bronchioalveolar lung, and colon cancer xenograft models. Tumorase was also used ex vivo to render B16 melanoma cells nonviable while preserving cellular antigens for use in an experimental whole-cell melanoma vaccine approach.
