Tumour-pulsed dendritic cells are an experimental autologous cell-based immunotherapy investigated for the treatment of various malignancies, including lymphoma and pancreatic carcinoma. The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells (DCs)—the most potent antigen-presenting cells of the immune system—and "pulsing" them ex vivo with tumor-derived antigens (either from autologous tumor lysate or specific tumor-associated antigens). These pulsed DCs are then matured and re-infused into the patient to prime and activate T-cells, specifically cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs), to recognize and eliminate tumor cells. In clinical research conducted by institutions like The First Teaching Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical College, this modality is frequently evaluated in combination with cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells to enhance the overall anti-tumor immune response.
