Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TUMS Chewy Bites with Gas Relief is an over-the-counter (OTC) combination medication designed to treat symptoms of acid reflux and intestinal gas. It contains two active ingredients: calcium carbonate, a small molecule antacid that neutralizes gastric acid to relieve heartburn and indigestion, and simethicone, an anti-foaming agent that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the digestive tract to alleviate bloating and pressure. Manufactured by Haleon (formerly part of GSK), the product is formulated as chewable tablets with a crunchy outer shell and a soft center. It is indicated for the relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and associated gas or bloating.
