Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tuomin Zhiti Tang (TZD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) decoction composed of multiple herbal ingredients. It is being investigated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, particularly seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR). Clinical studies have indicated that TZD can significantly reduce nasal and ocular symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and improve patients' quality of life. Its proposed mechanism of action involves controlling allergic reactions by reducing OVA-specific IgE and histamine release, and by modulating immune responses, specifically by decreasing interleukin-4 (IL-4) levels and increasing interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) levels. Research also suggests it can alleviate inflammatory responses and enhance immune function.
