turmeric exosome eye drops

Turmeric exosome eye drops are an experimental ophthalmic therapy consisting of extracellular vesicles (exosomes) derived from turmeric (*Curcuma longa*). Developed by the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, these plant-derived exosomes are being investigated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe dry eye disease. The therapy leverages the natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of turmeric in a stable, bioavailable exosomal delivery system designed for topical application to the ocular surface. In a Phase 0 clinical trial (ChiCTR2600130996), the drops are being evaluated for safety and preliminary efficacy compared to sodium hyaluronate eye drops over a two-week period to assess their ability to reduce ocular surface inflammation and improve tear film stability.
