Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This oral nutraceutical combination, consisting of turmeric extract, cysteine, silicon, and biotin, is designed to enhance hair strength and reduce hair loss. Its primary mechanism of action involves the upregulation of Collagen VII (COL7A1), a critical protein for the integrity of the dermal-epidermal junction and hair anchorage. In vitro studies have demonstrated that the formula can increase Collagen VII production in human fibroblasts by up to 147.7%. Clinical evaluation in a double-blind study showed that daily oral supplementation progressively increases hair breaking strength and improves perceived hair resistance over a 90-day period. The combination leverages the antioxidant properties of turmeric, the structural support provided by silicon and cysteine (a precursor to keratin), and the essential role of biotin in hair health and keratin synthesis.
