Overview

**Turmetabart adizutecan** (also known as ABBV-706 or turmeta-A) is an investigational **antibody-drug conjugate (ADC)** developed by **AbbVie** that targets **SEZ6**, a cell surface protein overexpressed in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and other solid tumors. The ADC consists of an anti-SEZ6 monoclonal antibody conjugated to a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload (A-1743332), enabling targeted delivery and DNA damage in SEZ6-expressing cancer cells. Originally advanced from phase 1 directly to phase 3 in first-line SCLC in combination with budigalimab (PD-1 inhibitor) or Tecentriq, it demonstrated promising early antitumor activity and a manageable safety profile, though interstitial lung disease and cytopenias are notable risks. Distinct from AbbVie's prior SEZ6 ADC ABBV-011 (discontinued), it represents a high-priority asset in AbbVie's oncology pipeline for difficult-to-treat tumors.
