Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tuscold AF is a pediatric fixed-dose combination medication developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics. It is formulated as an oral syrup and oral drops containing the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and the nasal decongestant phenylephrine hydrochloride. Chlorpheniramine maleate acts as a competitive antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor, providing relief from allergic symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist that induces vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing nasal congestion and sinus pressure. Tuscold AF is indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, allergic rhinitis, and upper respiratory tract allergies in children.
