Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tuscold Jr is a multi-ingredient pediatric cold formulation developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics. It is a fixed-dose combination containing paracetamol (acetaminophen), phenylephrine hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine maleate, and zinc gluconate. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic to reduce fever and relieve body aches. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant that narrows blood vessels in the nasal passages to relieve congestion. Chlorpheniramine maleate is a first-generation antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors to alleviate allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Zinc gluconate is included to support immune function and potentially reduce the duration and severity of common cold symptoms. Tuscold Jr is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, flu, and upper respiratory tract allergies in pediatric patients.
