Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tussi-Planta is an herbal medicinal product developed by ORENDA, primarily indicated as a cough sedative and expectorant. It is typically formulated as a syrup containing extracts of *Thymus vulgaris* (Thyme) and *Hedera helix* (Ivy leaf). These botanical components work synergistically to provide mucolytic, secretolytic, and bronchospasmolytic effects. Thyme extract is known for its antimicrobial and antitussive properties, while Ivy leaf extract contains saponins, such as alpha-hederin, that facilitate the thinning of mucus and ease its expulsion by modulating airway resistance through the stabilization of beta-2 adrenergic receptors. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases.
