TV-202 is a preclinical-stage virus-like particle (VLP)-based vaccine being developed by TheraVac Biologics for the treatment of neurodegenerative and inflammatory conditions, specifically frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS). The vaccine utilizes TheraVac's VLP platform to display immunogenic peptides that elicit an active immune response against the NLRP3 (NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 3) and ASC (apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD) components of the inflammasome. By targeting these proteins, TV-202 aims to reduce or neutralize the activity of the NLRP3 inflammasome, thereby mitigating chronic inflammation and the progression of diseases associated with misfolded protein aggregates. The platform is designed to elicit strong immune responses without the requirement for pro-inflammatory adjuvants.
