Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TV-301 is a virus-like particle (VLP)-based vaccine being developed by TheraVac Biologics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Alzheimer's disease (prodromal to mild) and traumatic brain injury. As an active immunotherapy, it is designed to induce an immune response against the NLRP3 inflammasome components NLRP3 and ASC (Apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD). By targeting these proteins, the vaccine aims to mitigate chronic neuroinflammation, a key driver of neurodegeneration. The VLP platform utilizes immunogenic peptides displayed on the particle surface to stimulate a robust immune response without the need for external adjuvants. TV-301 is currently in IND-enabling stages for Alzheimer's disease and preclinical development for traumatic brain injury.
