Overview

TV005 is an investigational, single-dose **live-attenuated tetravalent dengue vaccine** developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. It is an admixture of attenuated recombinant dengue virus components representing dengue virus serotypes 1, 2, 3, and 4; compared with the related TV003 formulation, TV005 contains a ten-fold higher dose of its DENV-2 component to improve DENV-2 immunogenicity. The vaccine is intended to induce protective humoral and cellular immunity against all four dengue serotypes and has been evaluated in phase 1 and phase 2 studies, including controlled human infection studies showing protection against attenuated DENV-2 and DENV-3 challenge viruses.
