TVB-3567 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of fatty acid synthase (FASN), developed by Sagimet Biosciences. FASN is the final committed enzyme in the de novo lipogenesis pathway, responsible for producing approximately 80% of sebum lipids, including palmitate and sapienate. By inhibiting FASN, TVB-3567 targets increased sebum production—a key contributor to acne pathogenesis—offering a novel therapeutic approach for acne treatment. The drug is planned to enter first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trials in 2025 following IND clearance by the FDA’s Division of Dermatology and Dentistry[1][3][5][6][8].
