Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TVD3-001 is a transdermal patch formulation of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) being developed by eptivA Therapeutics, under license from To Better Days, for the treatment of chronic pain. Cholecalciferol acts as an agonist of the Vitamin D receptor (VDR), which is hypothesized to modulate nociceptive pathways and suppress hyperactivity in transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) pain receptors. Originally developed as an over-the-counter wellness patch by To Better Days, the formulation is being advanced through Phase I/II clinical development for prescription indications in pain management.
