Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TVD3-004 is a transdermal patch formulation of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) being developed by EptivA Therapeutics, under a licensing agreement with To Better Days, for the treatment of specific chronic pain conditions. The patch utilizes a proprietary continuous-release technology to deliver cholecalciferol directly through the skin, which is metabolized into its active form, calcitriol, to target the Vitamin D receptor (VDR). This localized delivery is designed to suppress hyperactivity in nociceptor pain receptors and alleviate neuropathic pain and neurogenic inflammation with an improved half-life profile and reduced systemic side effects compared to oral analgesics.
