Overview

**TVDV** is an investigational tetravalent plasmid DNA vaccine developed by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command for prevention of dengue. It consists of equal amounts of four VR1012-based plasmids encoding the dengue virus premembrane and envelope proteins from dengue virus serotypes 1 through 4, and was evaluated both alone and formulated with the cationic lipid-based adjuvant Vaxfectin. In the completed Phase 1 study in flavivirus-naive adults, TVDV was generally well tolerated and induced dengue-specific IFN-gamma T-cell responses, while neutralizing-antibody responses were limited.
